Sustenance—It’s spring leaning into summer and time to start our CSA pick ups!

Messages about sustenance—social and environmental—on our planet is the point of this website, blog and our Tiny Planet products. In the spirit of daily sustenance here is a look at the first day of our pick up at the Pleasant Hill Produce CSA in Frederick, MD.

The box was full of kale, chard, strawberries, apples, onions, garlic scapes, lettuce, eggs.

Tonight’s ingredients: Strawberries, garlic scapes, radishes.
The strawberries are so perfect one only has to ask them nicely and they practically mash themselves for shortcakes. No sugar needed!
A simple garlic scape pesto on cod. Radishes sliced to roast along side. 400° for 15 min +/- depending on your oven.
Dinner: Garlic scape pesto on Cod, radish garnish, asparagus from our garden and a carrot “hotdog”. Dessert is strawberry shortcake.
Leftover garlic scape pesto to use as a dressing tomorrow, maybe on a kale & chard salad…..
